A Plastering Apprentice needs to be employed, if you are currently employed in Construction you can apply.

2 years (4 days a week in employment and 1 day at Chameleon School of Construction)

1 day spent at Chameleon where you will complete your Level 2 Diploma.
The qualification comprises:
• General core units.
• Occupation specific units.
• Synoptic practical assignment.
• Multiple choice unit end tests.
• Online testing of knowledge – GOLA.
All the units of training must be completed by you. ALL outcomes must be achieved during the training programme. (Evidence from site based testing is not permissible.)
To gain the diploma, you must achieve all units, the synoptic practical assignment and multiple choice unit tests. You must also pass the GOLA online test.
This qualification contains both practical and theory based elements.

Health and Safety:
Safety while on this course is paramount, this is a hands on, practical course and it is essential you bring your own safety boots, (steel toe cap if possible). It is also recommended that you bring with you overalls or a change of clothing.
Any other safety equipment required will be provided.
All materials, tools and equipment are provided throughout the duration of your training.
4 days employed where you will complete your NVQ Level 2.
The qualification comprises of 5 mandatory units and 2 optional units.
Mandatory Units:
• VR01 Conform to General Workplace Safety.
• VR02 Conform to Efficient Work Practices.
• VR03 Move and Handle Resources.
• VR66 Produce Internal Solid Plastering Finishes.
• VR67 Produce External Solid Render Finishes.
Optional Units:
• VR65 Apply Finishing Plaster to Background
Surfaces
• VR68 Install Direct Bond Dry Linings.
• VR69 Lay Sand and Cement Screeds.
• VR 70 Apply Projection Plaster and Maintain
Equipment
• VR71 Install Mechanically Fixed Plasterboards
Entry Requirments:
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, you must ensure that you have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification.
