Landscape Photography

This one day photography course is designed has been designed to improve your landscape photography skills and take interesting creative landscape shots.

The course starts in Waterloo with an introduction to the art of landscape photography and the theory of taking good landscape images at our offices. From here we will visit some of London’s best known and photogenic sights along the River Thames where you will put your new knowledge into practice with a series of exercises.

By the end of the day you will have a collection of photographs of London and have dramatically improved your landscape photography skills.

Sights you will photograph during the day:

• Tower Bridge
• South Bank of the Thames
• Millennium Bridge
• The London Eye

The day starts with an introduction to how to take interesting landscape shots. Topics covered will include understanding perspective, the rule of thirds, composition and creative use of colour. There will be a presentation illustrating examples of good and bad photographs of the sights you will visit.

You will then visit the following locations, taking photographs with our trainer who will be setting exercises and constantly reviewing and critiquing your pictures

The last hour will be spent back at our offices in Waterloo where everyone will upload their photos. Your instructor will critique photos taken during the day and provide feedback on how to further improve your photographic skills.


You will need your own Digital SLR camera, and you should already understand how the aperture and shutter speed priority modes work. If you do not have a DSLR camera but with to take a landscape photography course we would recommend you take our Shoot London course instead. If you have a digital SLR camera but do not know how to use the Shutterspeed and Aperture modes you should take our beginners Digital SLR workshop instead.

You will need to bring your own camera, and waterproofs in case of bad weather. You will also need some money to buy lunch. We supply tea, coffee and refreshments at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day. Please make sure you bring your camera with a memory card that can hold 150 - 200 pictures and that you have fully charged your camera’s battery.
