Volunteers wanted to become Citizen TV Makers

WORLDbytes, the School of Citizen TV run by the East London based charity WORLDwrite, produces news reports that get behind the headlines and provide a critical view point on current affairs. We need volunteers interested in making fresh ideas matter as citizen TV makers. The opportunities are vast: developing ideas for news programmes and reports; uploading media to the web; press and promotion; raising debate online; researching stories; pulling the subjects to interview; reporting; interviewing and filming. Film or media experience is absolutely not required as we are much more interested in ideas than style or skills and we provide the training needed for each report to volunteers who really get stuck in. To get to know us better, we ask everyone who wants to volunteer to complete and submit our online volunteer application form available here: http://www.worldbytes.org/become-a-volunteer/ This is a short and simple application which introduces WORLDbytes and ensures would be volunteers understand the charity’s principles and types of programmes we make. Once we receive a completed application, we book applicants a place on a WORLDbytes introductory evening. The evening gives volunteers a chance to introduce themselves and gives us a chance to explain in more detail, who we are, what we do, why we do it and how to get involved.
