Internal Quality Systems Auditing

Regular reviews of the performance of quality systems can provide real benefits in the identification of shortcomings and areas for improvement. If these reviews are carried out by trained staff, independent of the area involved, then the outcome can give management a clear picture of not just the operation of the quality system but of the effectiveness of the company activities.
As a requirement of most quality systems these internal reviews, or audits to use the jargon, are often seen as some form of industrial dentistry, something to be endured rather than embraced. However, conducted sensitively, these audits can produce both a confidence in the robustness of the current arrangements together with the identification of areas for future improvements.
It is important then that staff involved must have a clear picture of the process of auditing, to provide them with structure, and a good audit style, to enable them to establish a rapport with the auditee.
This course aims at providing both of these aspects, enabling delegates to conduct audits in a progressive manner that targets the process under review rather than the person carrying it out.
