Confined Space Training
The course is designed for companies whose staff may be required to enter areas that are classified as confined spaces and where there may be a risk of serious injury or death. The aim of this course will be to provide awareness of a safe working environment within a confined space and to make staff aware of procedure, to ensure a safe access and egress from a confined space and to have emergency procedures in place in the event of a emergency arising whilst operators are working in the confined space.
This course will include the Confined Space Regulations 1997 and other relevant Legislation.

A one day course consisting of theory and practical work.

• Safe System of Work
• The Confined Space Regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act, Management of Health and Safety at Work
• Regulations, Personal Protection Equipment Regulations, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, Control of
Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations,
• Interpretation and recognition of confined spaces
• Safe working in confined spaces
• Use of permit to work procedures
• Plant and equipment, suitability and type
• use of gas detection equipment
• Use of compressed air breathing apparatus
• Use of Personal protective equipment
• Ventilation equipment
• Maintenance of PPE
• Daily Checks of equipment
• Manning levels
• Communication equipment and procedures
• Emergency procedures
Certification
As the course is practically assessed, the instructor will control the environment to ensure the safety of personnel at all times.
Upon completion of the course content and practical assessment, there will be a question paper to prove the competency of the students.
