In the UK there is a chronic shortage of trades people, such as plasterers. This is fuelled by the boom in construction, both commercial and domestic.
There has never been a better time to consider plastering as a professional career. For similar reasons, the difficulty in finding reliable tradesmen has led many people to learn plastering skills and do the job for themselves. This is where Northern School of plastering and Partitioning come in.
The course:
The Northern School of plastering and Partitioning courses are designed to teach you the principles of plastering in the shortest time possible. Although intensive, they are also fun and hands-on. We believe that you will learn more quickly by enjoying your time spent with us, trying out both traditional and modern plastering techniques for yourself and building up knowledge and confidence as the course progresses.
At the Northern School of plastering and Partitioning you will learn the following principles, with plenty of practice space.
External rendering
Plasterboard a ceiling
Dot and dab walls, including window openings
Skimming coat to ceilings, including tapes
Skimming coat to walls, including beads & tapes
PVA and overskim to walls and ceilings
Angle beads to pillars
Float pillars in browning / bonding plaster
Skim pillars

Working safely and confidently in real life situations, Northern School of plastering and Partitioning course will learn you to understand how to solve plastering problems and learn a few ‘tricks of the trade’, always working to current building regulations
