This two day course is aimed at anyone who has responsibility for developing and delivering group training sessions in the workplace. It is designed to provide an insight into all aspects of the training cycle i.e. identifying needs, preparation and design, delivery, and evaluation. The emphasis is on developing the skills and confidence required to become a first class trainer. On the second day of the course delegates have the opportunity to deliver a short interactive-style training session and to receive constructive feedback.

Course objectives: To explain the significance of the systematic training cycle. To outline the principles of how and why people learn. To plan and structure a training programme or session to meet identified needs and objectives. To build rapport with learners and to encourage participation. To deliver an interactive-style training session in a clear and confident manner using a range of communication techniques. To describe the principles of how groups develop and use appropriate techniques for dealing with difficult behaviour. To explain the purposes of evaluation and methods that can be used. The course is supplemented by comprehensive notes and references.
