This seminar will provide a basic understanding of what copyright and design rights are, who owns them and look at the extent to which the rights can be registered in the UK and European Union.

We will consider what each right provides to the proprietor, how each is infringed and the sanctions which may be imposed. We will touch upon the concept of "groundless threats" and discuss good practice for avoiding infringement.
