Tiling Course

The courses that we offer are ideal for people who wish to learn about tiling whether you are planning to change career, you are looking to learn a new skill so as to supplement your income or you are a DIY enthusiast. All attendees learn in their own purpose built training bay with full access to all tools and materials required. The courses can be attended midweek, Saturdays or evenings and full support is provided before, during and after attending the training courses.

Saturday course are due to commence on 3rd September.
Wolverhampton: 11th July, 8th August, 5th September, 3rd October, 31st October, 28th November.

During the course you will:

* Understand how to and practice setting out floors and walls - very important to know the correct method. You will complete this in your own training bay and we will also cover setting out in our other training bays - bathrooms, kitchens, etc.
* Fix tiles to walls - working around obstacles such as windows, sockets, switches, basins, internal and external angles.
* Fix tiles to floors - around obstacles such as pillars, pedestals, door frames, etc.
* Apply grout to walls and floors using wall grout, floor grout and epoxy grout.
* Practice tile cutting using a large selection of different hand nippers, dry cutters and wet cutters.
* Know how to install tanking systems, this is completed as a group discussion and demonstartion - very popular aspect.
* Understand different tiles available and their suitability for different applications.
* Identify background surfaces and understand any preparations that they may require.
* Use a selection of tools, equipment and materials used in floor and wall tiling.
* Understand how to correctly plan and prepare tiling projects - tools and materials needed, time frames and how to cost jobs.
* Understanding the different methods used to price jobs, dealing with customers and overcoming problems that may arise. You will also be provided with support after completing your course and you are able to contact your tutor, email or call into the training centre to discuss your queries.

5 Days in duration, from 8am until 4pm at the Willenhall centre and from 9am until 5pm at the Stoke centre. Please arrive at the training centre at least 15 minutes before the course start time.

The cost of this course is £425 INC VAT and there are no hidden costs. You only need to bring yourself, work clothes and footwear and your lunch, we will provide everything else - there is even free tea and coffee.
