The Peak Performance Programme is delivered over a period of 3 days, split into two workshops (2 consecutive days followed by a single day some 6 to 8 weeks later).
The first two days focus primarily on teaching delegates the principles of achieving peak performance. Participants will leave with tools for personal behavioural change and the knowledge behind them. The third day will then provide delegates with the opportunity to explore the areas they wish/need to apply their knowledge to further – as well as giving them momentum. We will check progress and deal with issues that have arisen since.
We show delegates how our self imposed limits, which give us expectations far below our true capabilities, come into being. We explain the process in terms of simple behavioural models, psychology and recent medical science. We use a combination of accepted models together with examples of how these methods have been successful within business and professional sport. We focus on how to develop a winning mindset and what this means on an 'everyday' basis.
All the material is delivered with the use of anecdotes and evidence both from our experience in working with a variety of well known organisations and the wider world. There is a strong level of interaction through discussion and exercises without forcing people to do things they don’t feel comfortable doing. The learning experience is as fun and enjoyable as possible and is focused at a personal level to maximise buy in to the programme. Delegates will leave wanting more but not needing more.
Overall Aims and Expectations of the Programme:
• A more positive overall mindset in individuals; an understanding of why this is important and how to maintain it.
• Delegates will develop a deep understanding of how and why people behave the way they do; looking at the vital role that mindset and beliefs play in determining performance both short term and long term.
• Participants will become much more self aware. This will have many implications in terms of enabling them to develop the right behaviours consciously. They will be equipped to change whether that is a small habit they would like to break or a competency they need to develop.
• We expect motivation to increase by helping people to understand how to tap into it 24/7. Excellence is not something individuals turn on and off. Living excellence is a 24 hour way of thinking.
• The group will gain tools for positive behavioural change, both personal and organisational. These are simple yet powerful tools that are applicable across professional and personal lives and we would expect to see individuals progressing in many areas of importance to them through their use. That use comes from teaching the true understanding of how and why they work; anecdotally, physically/scientifically or theoretically/psychologically. This generates true engagement with them rather than a begrudging acceptance of them.
• We fully expect individual performance to improve, whether that be in terms of 'hitting the numbers/achieving the task' or 'demonstrating positive behaviours' in doing that.
• Due to the fundamental nature of the knowledge delegates will gain, we would anticipate any further development to benefit hugely and become ‘self perpetuating’. An understanding of how to make sustainable, painless change will help in developing any number of specific skills.
• The experience that individuals gain is powerful. It is 'emotive' rather than 'emotional in a touchy feely way'.
• We explore how the best teams operate and participants will leave with an understanding of how to apply this within the context of a group.
• Individuals will improve as leaders; on the assumption that leadership is nothing more than how one person’s behaviour affects another (this doesn’t have to be in a management context therefore!). This will come through a greater understanding of behavioural impact upon others. Delegates will manage relationships far more effectively both through improved levels of emotional intelligence.
• Following on from this point, delegates will therefore emerge far better equipped to communicate more effectively with themselves and others around them.
• The programme will boost confidence, without this turning into unrealistic 'blind faith'. True belief is the key here rather than the 'fake it till you make it' approach, which is painful and unsustainable. True growth in self image will lead to increased levels of emotional strength amongst participants. This will help them deal with the inevitable challenges they will face day to day.
• Delegates will set bigger and better goals and objectives, and will follow through on those goals more effectively both personally and organisationally.
