The Confined Space Regulations 1997 apply when it is necessary for workers to carry out work in a confined space including a chamber, tank, flue, vat, silo, pit, trench, pipe, sewer, well, or other similar space in which by virtue of its enclosed nature, there arises a reasonably foreseeable specified risk.
