You can start the NVQ at any time during the year with the expectation that you will complete the award within two years of starting. To achieve a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services you will need a total of 80 Credits gained by demonstrating your skills, knowledge, understanding, care values and attitudes across mandatory and optional units. The number of credits from mandatory and optional units is as follows:
Adults Residential Management
• 52 credits are from mandatory units and 28 from optional units
Adults Management
• 53 credits are from mandatory units and 27 from optional units
Adults Advanced Practice
• 41 credits are from mandatory units and 39 from optional units
You are required to complete at least 435-629 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). The course is assessed by an online multiple choice test and a portfolio.
