Learning Outcome The learner will:

Outline how the components of the fire triangle can be used to control fire risks.
List active and passive fire risk control measures. Outline fire prevention measures that can be taken to minimise fire risks.
Understand the basics of practical fire safety
State the safe operating parameters for the use of portable fire-fighting equipment.
Outline simple checks for ensuring that fire
safety equipment is serviceable and safe to use.

This qualification is assessed by a 15 question multiple-choice examination.Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15.
The examination paper is set and marked by HABC. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes.
Examination Results and Certificates
Following the examination, a list of results will be provided stating whether candidates have passed or failed. Certificates for successful candidates will be dispatched for distribution by Centre Contacts.
