Diploma in Public Service Iterpreting
The course focuses on the theory and practice of interpreting and prepares you to work in the legal sector.
The course will include practical sessions when you will be taken to the various venues within the law environment.
During the course you will acquire skills to interpret consecutively, simultaneously, to translate written text and be able sight-translate and to take notes.
You also will gain knowledge of interpreter professional ethics.You will practice your acquired skills by participating in carefully chosen and well-prepared role-plays.

Why to choose my course?
I am a qualified and experienced language tutor, interpreter and interpreter trainer. I am included on the National Register of Public Service Interpreters, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and Association of Police and Court Interpreters. I have years of experience in public service interpreting within the justice system, social services, intelligent services, immigration, etc.
Teaching will consist of weekly sessions that include studying of the following: legal system, translation and interpreting theory, applied interpreting skills and interpreting trends and issues.
You will be required to expand on the topics through research and self study and will be expected to prepare material for your weekly session.
The examination is assessed through the Institute of Linguists' examinations that take place in the middle of June.
