Introduction to Authentic Movement

Body and Movement are expressions of our deepest inner self

The practice of Authentic Movement sprang from a meeting between contemporary dance and the self awareness of the modern psychological movement.

Practicing Authentic Movement will help us to feel more at ease in our bodies. Joints can move more freely, and the body might feel more poised and aligned. Back pain and tension aches can be relieved, and the breath flows more freely. We learn to:
- listen to our bodyies
- take time to express thoughts, feelings and imaginations
- explore new, healthy movement patterns
- relax into meditative presence

Authentic movement can also bring us in touch with the story of our life and it's underlying archetypal patterns.

The transformative power of this work is profoundly connected to the creative source of therapy, artistry and our humanity.
