1. Produce a plan for a 25-30 minute micro-teach session that identifies; the session's learning outcomes and gives a breakdown of teaching, learning and assessment approaches and tasks to be used to ensure that the learning outcomes are met and achieved. Delivery of a micro teach session followed by a self assessment based in the feedback from the tutor and peers.
2. 1,200 word essay outlining the roles and responsibilities of the teacher/trainer including legislation, equality, diversity and inclusion, internal and external assessment and the importance of keeping records.
3. A review of a teaching session within the context of a full teaching programme. To produce 2 lesson/session plans from this teaching programme and identify the aspects of point 1 above.

Delivery: 30 hours classroom based + 30 hours private study
This course can be at level 3 or level 4 (depending upon your skills and qualifications) and is designed and delivered in a way that enables you to develop the knowledge and skills required to be an effective teacher/trainer. You will gain an awareness and confidence in planning and delivering sessions/lessons that are stimulating, being able to achieve the desired learning outcomes of any programme and ensuring that you meet the needs of your students/trainees.
Using workshops, seminars, group and individual tutorials, the course is delivered by a well experienced teacher trainer with a background in Ofsted and executive management in the further education sector.
The focus of the course is based on reflective practice whereby teachers/trainers review their professional skills and experiences and build on these to help make them effective practitioners.
You will find the course supportive and enabling, equipping you with the tools and skills to use in your own personal toolkit as a teacher/trainer. It will also help to prepare you, as a learner in the lifelong learning sector, to have the confidence to progress to a level 4 teaching qualification in order to enhance your own personal and professional development.
