NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate
The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire safety and Risk Management aims to provide those making day-to-day decisions at and in the workplace with a broad knowledge of fire related health and safety in order to ensure that the fire health and safety implications of their decisions are properly taken into account. Our course has been structured for those people who already have passed their NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health [Unit NGC1]and will enhance fire safety knowledge gained during that qualification.
The Unit FC1 - Fire Safety and Risk Management is divided into 7 elements:
FC1 - Element 1 Managing Fire Safety
FC1 - Element 2 Principles of Fire and Explosion
FC1 - Element 3 Causes and Prevention of Fire
FC1 - Element 4 Fire Protection in Buildings
FC1 - Element 5 Safety of People in the event of a fire
FC1 - Element 6 Fire Risk Assessment
The Unit FC2 is The Practical Assessment
NEBOSH sets and marks one written examination paper, Paper FC1 - Fire Safety and Risk Management. Each paper contains one 20-mark question and ten 8-mark questions. The time allowed for each paper is two hours and candidates are required to answer all questions. The practical assessment is set and marked by a suitably qualified assessor at Woodward SHE Ltd, to a standard set and moderated by NEBOSH.
The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is primarily for people who hold a current NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health [Unit NGC1] Certificate (achieved within the last 5 years).
Those without the NGC1 Unit Certificate can still attend this course, but on successful completion will only get NEBOSH FC1 and FC2 Unit Certificates, and not the full NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management. However; a future successful completion of the NGC1Unit (within 5 years) will allow the student to upgrade to the full qualification.
