NGC3 is the practical examination.

The examination and its result grades

Written Examination

Each written paper (NGC1 and NGC2) contains one 20-mark question and ten 8-mark questions. The time allowed for each paper is two hours and candidates are required to answer all questions. Candidates are required to obtain at least 45% in each paper. Candidates achieving less than 45% in either paper will be referred in that paper.

Once passed, each unit (NGC1, NGC2 and NGC3) is valid for 5 years for the purposes of completing this qualification, and other qualifications with the NGC1 as a prerequisite.


Practical assessment

NGC3, the practical assessment, is set and marked by a suitably qualified assessor, who is appointed by the programme organiser and approved by NEBOSH, to a standard set and moderated by NEBOSH.

Candidates are required to obtain at least 60% for a pass. Candidates awarded less than 60% in NGC 3 will be referred in this part.
