This one day course includes relevant definitions, the legislation, language, understanding institutional discrimination and relevant case studies. Our aim is to introduce delegates to the concepts of equal opportunities and diversity and to develop healthy working relationships through reflective thinking, empathy, understanding, raised awareness, sensitivity and a desire to be fair.

The meaning of equality and diversity and why it is
important
The groups of people/ areas which are covered by
legislation
The key legislation against discrimination on the
grounds of sex, race, disability, religion or belief, sexual
orientation and age
Identifying responsibilities in relation to equality and
diversity (DDA)and discussing equality and diversity
issues through case studies
People's attitudes, feelings and perspectives on
equality, difference and diversity, on discrimination and
harassment, on bullying and exclusion.
Examining your own prejudices and stereotypes; and
see how prejudice translates into active discrimination.
