This 3-day course aims to prepare students to develop the relevant knowledge and skills to use selected essential oils and basic massage skills safely and appropriately for pregnant and labouring women. It also covers the process of implementation of aromatherapy within the maternity services, including relevant professional, legal and ethical issues. Midwives working in the NHS will be appropriately equipped to implement aromatherapy within their professional practice, subject to managerial approval and development of local guidelines
