IT Course - Update your IT skills to help you get a job

Who will the sessions suit?
They’re for women who already have basic IT skills, but feel they need to improve to compete in today’s job market.
For example, you may use the internet regularly for email and to surf the web, but are completely new to using Word to write a job application letter. Or you may already be competent on Word, and now want to add Excel to your range of office skills.
As long as you can switch on a computer and use a mouse and keyboard, you’ll develop your skills. But the session is not suitable for women who are starting from scratch – sorry!
Which skills can you develop?
Choose from any of the following areas:
• Word
• Excel
• Outlook (email, organising meetings etc)
• File management
• Internet - how to search and apply for jobs online

Training matched to YOUR skill level
No one person is the same, so the training will be fully tailored to your individual needs. After you’ve booked your place, we’ll call you and discuss which new areas you want to learn, and what your current skill level is. We’ll build your skills starting from whatever point you’re at now.
How much support will you get in the session?
Our expert IT coach has the empathy and experience that comes from years of working with parents who’ve had a long break from work. We understand what it’s like to be facing work again and feeling out of touch.
Each session lasts for 2 hours and there will be:
• One computer per person, so there’s no time wasted in sharing
• A maximum of 6 people per session, so you’ll get plenty of one-to-one attention.
• You’ll work on tasks that are set for your skill level
• You’ll have help-notes to guide you through the tasks
• Follow-up support via email is available for 2 weeks after the session, when you’re practising at home.
Cost
• £60 for one 2 hour session with up to 2 weeks follow-up support via email
• Up to 3 further sessions can be booked at £45 each
