Investigating Cyber Crime

A 3 day course which introduces managers and professional investigators with a responsibility for dealing with cyber crime to the subject. The course is aimed at beginners who are generally not employed in IT related jobs. Easy to understand language is used throughout. Candidates should ideally have a basic knowledge of popular computer software packages such as Microsoft Office.

• How information is passed around IT systems and the Internet
• Where and how computer data is stored
• How criminals use IT and other technology to plan and implement crime
• How and why Data is stolen and how it is used
• How the internet assists criminals
• How to gather and preserve computer evidence
• How to present computer based evidence at court

Method of Learning

This is a classroom based course with a mix of theory and practical sessions. During this course full use will be made of computers and the internet to practically demonstrate and practice the skills being taught.
