This course is suitable for a range of industries where risk assessment has deemed standard first aid unsuitable. It includes rapid extraction, confined space rescue and emergency landing site preparation.

Course Welcome & Introduction
The Role of EMT, Code of Conduct
Pre Hospital Environment (Scene Safety, Minimising Infection, Post Incident Procedures, Triage and introduction to Kinematics)
Patient Assessment (Communication & Primary/Secondary Survey)
Basic Life Support with Paediatrics

Day 2
Airway Management: Recognition, OP & NP Airways, LMA
Use of Oxygen (Safety & Administration)
Airway Management Scenarios
Removal of Crash Helmets
Use of an AED (Safety, Precautions & Usage)

Day 3
Haemorrhage Management (Skill Stations)
Shock Management
Trauma Management Including Fractures, Dislocations, Burns/Scalds etc
Spinal Immobilisation Skills
Assisting the Paramedic
Pain Relief (Entonox)
Trauma Scenario’s

Day 4
Ballistic & Chest Trauma
Anaphylaxis Management (Including Use of Epi Pen)
Medical Emergency’s (Diabetes, Heart Conditions etc)
Road Traffic Collision Management (including Kinetics of Trauma)
Recording & Reporting
Scenarios


Day 5
Major incidents, Scenarios, assessments, round up and course close.


Day 6 & 7
