COURSE CONTENT
> Overview of Diabetes: - Type I and Type II
> Normal and abnormal glucose ranges – including action
required
> Monitoring the blood sugar
> Selecting a site
> Health & Safety Risk and Safe Disposal of Equipment
> Legal & professional implications (e.g. consent, NMC
Scope of Practice)
All attendees receive Certification and also full colour
handouts to take back to the workplace.
Training Days are carried out by Degree Level; Practicing
Nurse Specialists currently registered with the
NMC. We work in accordance with the latest NICE
guidance, CSCI & Scottish Care Commission Regulations.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
> This course will enable all delegates to gain a fuller
understanding of diabetes in order to maintain blood
sugar levels that will optimise the general health of
patients
TARGET AUDIENCE
All RGN’s regardless of their health care setting. It may
be appropriate for some HCA’s (NVQII & III) if the
organisation feels it is appropriate.
