You will spend the morning learning about improvised shelters and you will get a chance to construct your very own leaf litter shelter. Then we will be looking at the plants and trees around us and discuss their uses for food and medicine. We wil then go onto have a look at water collection, filtration and purification. Then its time for lunch! You will be given either a rabbit, pigeon or fish and will be guided through the preparation and cooking. After eating your lunch you will the get a chance to practice fire lighting, (using the bow drill method), we will go through the basic principles of fire lighting.
Over the course of the day you will learn:
- How to light a fire (without matches)
- Construct a waterproof shelter
- How to find water and make it safe to drink
- How to identify useful trees and plants for food and medicine
- How to prepare game ready for cooking
- Some bushcraft cooking techniques
- Safety with back country cutting tools

This course is fully catered.
This course will be run on one day starting at 9am and finishing at 4pm.
Minimum aged is 8 years old (any under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a fully paying adult).
