Working at Height Awareness

Introduction

The Working at Height Regulations 2005 came into force on 6th April 2005. The Regulations apply to all work where there is a risk of a fall which is liable to cause an injury and place specific duties on employers, self employed and any person that controls the work of others.



Who will benefit?

This training will be of benefit to managers, supervisors and employees who plan, organise, supervise or conduct working at height activities.



Learning outcomes

On completing this course candidates will understand the need to:

Properly plan and organise work at height
Ensure that those working at height are competent
Understand the need to carry out risk assessment
Ensure that the correct equipment is selected
Properly inspect and maintain equipment used for working at height
Control the risk from fragile work surfaces


Entry Qualifications and Progression

There are no entry qualifications for this course. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace.
