This qualification is part of the framework recommended by the Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineers to become a professionally qualified plumber.
The Plumbing Academy is an A rated City & Guilds Approved training centre catering specifically for career changers and those people looking to progress within the plumbing trade.

The Plumbing Academy is a private training company approved by the City & Guilds to offer courses leading to the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Plumbing (6129).
The course consists of up to 6 weeks full time intensive theoretical and practical tuition by highly experienced lecturers.
The course requires theoretical classroom learning to be supplemented by practical experience. Students spend each day in the Academy's purpose built workshop in Edenbridge, Kent, which is fully equipped with basins, baths, radiators, airing cupboards and chimney stacks for you to develop your practical skills under expert supervision.
The City & Guilds Certificate course comprises the following modules:
Each unit will have a multiple-choice exam.
300 - Systems planning (Underpinning knowledge question paper assessment)
301 - Complex cold water systems
302 - Complex domestic hot water systems
303 - Complex sanitation systems
304 - Central heating systems (Boilers and controls)
305 - Domestic gas supply systems (Natural or LPG)
306 - Improvement of business products and services in the plumbing industry
307 - Plumbing studies core underpinning knowledge (question paper)
308 - Plumbing studies practical tasks
Additional Unit - For modern apprenticeships candidate.
401 - Employment rights and responsibilities
Gas Option Units
(1) 024 Design gas supply system to meet customer needs
(2) 025 Install and test the components of gas supply systems
(3) 026 Commission and decommission gas supply systems
(4) 027 Maintain the effective operation of gas supply systems
Accredited certification scheme (ACS) Gas Safety assessments will be carried out externally for gas safety registration. This is an option offered at extra cost.
Maintain System:
Plan and schedule for planned maintenance of systems.
Working Relationships and Quality Development
Establish and develop professional relationships with customers and co-ordinators.
Each module is assessed by a computer-based multiple-choice examination and a timed practical assessment. There is also an externally set and marked end-test leading to the award of the Level 3 Certificate.
In the unlikely event that a Student is unsuccessful in any assessment, they are able to continue with the course as normal and will receive dedicated assistance to pass the particular module from the teaching staff.
Computer-based testing is very, very straightforward, but we provide guidance for anyone who has not experienced it before.
