Discovering Ideas Through Drawing
Tutor: Sandy Sykes
3 day course

Sandy will encourage you to climb through danger zones where risks mean surprises! Taking you from the making of a sketchbook of ideas, developing playful and experimental drawing methodologies and on towards drawings that communicate your ideas.

Course Outline:
You will be accumulating drawings from a chosen object with a mixture of figurative and abstract imagery, examining the properties of various drawing mediums as you work through them individually and experimenting with diagrammatic and varying viewpoints.
Stretch your imagination and lose your inhibitions in a rapid confidence building session of drawing where any mark, material method and surface can be used, found, obliterated and/or saved. Referencing the drawings from Day One, sustained, rigorous and fun directions from Sandy will allow you to challenge your own preconceptions and identify humour as part of your repertoire.
Sandy will give individual tutorials as you continue your work.
Selecting from the wide range of your work from days one and two and progressing imagery and ideas from that source, you will be making one or a series of drawings or constructions which demonstrate your personal ambitions.
