Throughout the course, delegates will learn how to:
* Relate to consequences of explosions and terrorist attacks
* Prioritise, treat and remove casualties
* Co-ordinate with The Emergency Services
* Assume critical roles if the emergency services are delayed or cannot access the disaster scene
* Operate 'Command and Control' - the chain of survival
* Revisit or create a Company Emergency Response plan

In an emergency situation where an explosion or similar incident has occurred, a number of people are often left with injuries which if basic first aid is applied to there and then, will allow them to live.
In other words if the emergency services are in any way delayed, the delegates from this course could be in a position to apply critical first aid until further help arrives. This action can simply mean the difference between life and death.
