This e-learning course will help learners to provide service users who are diabetic with the help and support they need. It explains the difference between diabetes types 1 and 2, lists some of the causes and outlines the symptoms to look out for.
Learners will find out about insulin and how treatments for diabetes help people with insulin deficiencies, and also learn about the importance of a balanced diet in helping people with the condition to live healthier lives.
The course goes on to describe how the blood sugar levels of diabetics needs to be monitored and balanced. It concludes by identifying some of the complications and health issues that people with the condition may have to face, and ways of helping them to avoid, or at least delay, these difficulties wherever possible.
