Towards Abstraction
Tutor: Martyn Brewster
3 day painting and drawing course
Working from still life in the studio or from the inspiring Wiltshire landscape you will develop a more abstract approach to drawing and painting. Experiment with a variety of drawing and painting mediums, composition and colour development.
Course Outline:
Towards abstraction will use a ‘still life’ in the studio as a basic subject matter on which you can develop a more abstract approach to drawing and painting. Working in a small group you will receive individual tuition on your ideas and images.
The course will particularly encourage both compositional and colour developments, and the opportunity to experiment with a variety of drawing and painting mediums. Working from still life drawings in the studio you will be encouraged to develop your ideas on figuration to a more abstract approach.
Weather permitting some landscape composition may also be possible either outside or from the studio views
“Martyn calmly encourages you to take your individual path, it was such an exciting journey!” FJ
