Course Modules
1.) Demonstration of bricklaying tools and materials
2.) Demonstrate how to gauge, level & plumb your brickwork
3.) Mix mortar to the correct consistency
4.) Build a brick wall with L shape returns, hollow piers and decorative capping stones OR build a decorative brick wall with returns incorporating hollow piers with an arch and capping stones
5.) Complete different pointing up techniques
6.) Demonstrate different brick types, patterns, depth for footings plus much more
7.) Build a porch extension using lintels, backblocks, wall ties, cavaties, engineering bricks, facing bricks and damp proof course
The above modules are covered on our 5 and 10 day courses with a scaled down version available on our 2 day weekend courses for D.I.Y purposes.
Shropshire Building Skills will give you the confidence to tackle any project with complete confidence.Training starts at 8.45am until approximately 4.30pm. All tools and materials will be supplied and we have an on-site tool shop for all candidates to purchase new tools at trade prices if they wish.
