Digital Photography Course for Intermediates is a tailored course with 30% theory and 70% practice, exercises, practical examples, impromptu demonstrations, outdoor shooting and the opportunity to discuss and ask questions after each topic. (pick and mix topics depending on your needs).

Do you have a basic understanding of camera commands and have taken pictures for a while but no signs of improvement? Did you buy a more advanced (expensive) camera but your pictures did not improve? Come and join us and get a good understanding of the photography principles and how you can make the most of your camera capabilities.
At this level we go in depth and digging more the principles of photography.
You will learn to control your images, “make” rather than “take – record” an image by learning how to control your exposures, the composition elements and how to design your pictures.
Also, you will also learn how to enhance your photographs trough the “Introduction to workflow” lesson.

* Understanding Lenses & Focal Length (types, characteristics, use, choosing the most effective lens for the job)
* Exposure, Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO (an in depth understanding and how to use them creatively and effectively in different situations)
* The Light Meter & Metering Modes
* Depth of Field (understanding and using DOF effectively)
* Exposure Bracketing
* Exposure Compensation
* Focusing System
* Exposure Modes M – Av – Tv – P – Bulb (use of these mode in different situations effectively)
* Flash & Natural Light – how to create beautiful portraits using flash and natural light effectively
* Diffusers and Reflectors (how to control and make your light softer)
* White Balance and Colour Temperature
* Picture Quality, Formats, Resolution, File Types
* Introduction to Workflow (raw processing and how to use different tools effectively to improve your photographs)
If you haven’t got a camera available yet but still want to attend the course you can borrow one of our spare semi-professional DSLRs + lenses + flashgun + tripod for the duration of the course. If you are planning to buy a new camera, I can offer advice on what camera and lenses to buy according to your budget.
