Abrasive Wheel

This ½ day course fulfills the legal requirement that managers, supervisors and anyone else involved in using abrasive wheels in accordance with section 1, 2, 4 & 9 under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 and the Health and Safety at Work act 1974. Delegates will learn: the correct way to select, inspect mount and use
safely, the need for safe handling and storage and selection of the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Aims of the training

To have an understanding of the implications of the Asbestos Regulations:

Check whether discs or wheels are safe to mount
Carry out a inspection and testing of resinoid and vitrified wheels
To state the reason for the regulations
Mount abrasive wheels
Understand the need for safe handling and storage
Select the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
