NEC Masterclass - Autumn, 2010

As with previous NEC Masterclasses, the programme will be delivered over six half-day (afternoon) workshops over a six week period - 28 October to 30 November, 2010.

The first half of each session examines a particular [example] contract and consists of an introduction to the contractual principles and particular elements of that contract and how, in general terms, they effect:

1. The Employer
2. Project Manager and his professional team
3. The Contractor
4. The Sub-Contractors
The second half of each session illustrates with "problems" encountered in an example, which develops from inception in Session 1, through to defects correction and facilities management in the last session. ‘Do's' and ‘Don'ts' are highlighted by exploring practical decision making and contract administration.

The NEC Masterclass provides a detailed and consolidated understanding of the NEC suite of contracts in action.

A copy of the NEC Black Book is included in the course fee

SESSION 2 - THURSDAY 04 OCTOBER, 2010 - THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT
SESSION 3 - TUESDAY 09 NOVEMBER, 2010 - ENTERING THE CONTRACT AND CONTRACTOR'S DESIGN INPUT
SESSION 4 - TUESDAY 16 NOVEMBER, 2010 - ON TO SITE
SESSION 5 - TUESDAY 23 NOVEMBER, 2010 – COMPLETION
SESSION 6 - TUESDAY 30 NOVEMBER, 2010 - THE TERMS OF THE SERVICE CONTRACT

Places on this programme were limited to 30 people and were allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
