Manual Handling (Bespoke)

This is a half day course that covers the important factors regarding manual handling. Delegates are taught about all the risks, potential strains and injuries associated with this area of work. Manual handling legislation is also covered to reinforce learning and so that workers know the laws and limits when it comes to manual handling.

Topics in this course include:
1. Going through the importance of manual handling and the dangers of negligence with regards to manual handling.
2. Learning about the fundamental body parts involved with manual handling, and the skeletal system.
3. Outline the basic principles and rules to follow when manual handling (With role playing exercises to augment learning).
4. Load Handling: How to approach different loads, and their respective weights, Team lifting for excessive loads and how to communicate effectively.
5. Communication: This is looked into further to emphasise its importance in manual handling. Practice and role playing is used in this area too.
6. Ergonomics: Defining ergonomics and its importance in manual handling.
7. Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
