What you will study
There are 3 levels of Text Processing available online – Foundation (Level 1) Intermediate (Level 2) and Advanced (Level 3). Each level comprises 2 separate examinations:-
Text Production
Word Processing
How you will learn
You will attend an Induction Session where your tutor will explain the outline of the programme, demonstrate how to use email and give you the opportunity to start learning. You will purchase your Learning Materials (textbooks) which will be yours to keep and work through at your own pace.
You will be expected to attend short, structured, face-to-face sessions which will help you revise for your examinations. You will be told about these when you start the course.
You will have regular support by email and telephone with your tutor who will monitor your progress. Additional learning material will be emailed to you as appropriate.
How you will be assessed
You will work towards OCR examinations, set on specific dates, and throughout the course your tutor will provide you with feedback on individual exercises and completed past examination papers. When you and your tutor feel you are ready to sit each exam you will be entered and advised of the date and time. Your work will be marked externally by OCR moderators.
Entry Requirements
For Level 1: Assessment required
For Level 2: Certificate in Text Processing level 1, or equivalent.
For Level 3: Certificate in Text Processing level 2, or equivalent.
