What you will study

The course covers all the basic vehicle systems and technologies you will need in starting a career within the Motor Industry. These include Health & Safety, Engineering, Vehicle Inspection, Body Repair, Paint Refinishing, Valeting, Customer Care, Steering and Suspension, Battery and Lighting and Motorcycle Maintenance.
You will also study appropriate Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT.


Your Course Structure

Classroom: 50%; Practical: 50%


How you will learn

In the College’s fully-equipped motor vehicle workshops and in the classroom. The course is divided into two qualifications (Award and Diploma) The Award is delivered over a 12 week period. Provided your performance on the Award is satisfactory, you may progress to the Diploma which you will complete at the end of 36 weeks.


How you will be assessed

By continuous assessment within the workshops and oral/written testing.


Entry Requirements

Entry 3 literacy and numeracy qualifications. If you do not have the relevant qualifications, we can assess your current level of literacy and/or numeracy. You will also need a genuine interest in the subject and lots of enthusiasm, demonstrated at a selection test and interview.
