What you will study
All aspects of motorcycle technology, with industry standards applied throughout. Subjects are broken down into easy-to-manage areas of study such as Health & Safety, correct use of tools and equipment, basic servicing, and preparation for riding and use.
You will also study for appropriate Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT.
Your Course Structure
Classroom: 50%; Practical: 50%
How you will learn
Practical work in the motor vehicle workshops and classroom based theory lessons.
The course is divided into two qualifications (Award and Diploma). The Award is delivered over a 12 week period and the Diploma over a further 24 weeks. Provided your performance on the Award is satisfactory, you may progress through the qualifications to complete the Diploma at the end of 36 weeks.
How you will be assessed
Continuous assessment of practical workshop tasks and compilation of a portfolio of evidence of tasks completed, plus oral and written tests.
Entry Requirements
Entry 3 literacy and numeracy qualifications. If you do not have these, we can assess you. You will also need enthusiasm and a genuine interest in the subject, demonstrated at the selection tests and interview.
