The Art of Journaling
An odyssey of text, drawing and photography
Tutor: Jill Carter
1 Day Workshop
Course Outline:
Explore the space between the pages of a journal, to creatively document a journey, real or imagined, through a process both poetic and playful, assemble a storyboard of life experiences using drawings, photographs, writing and scribbles, found objects and materials.
About the Tutor:
Jill Carter’s work explores the theme of journeying, unearthing histories and stories in relationship to people and place. Her diverse practice as a social engagement artist includes private and public commissions in consultative participatory community arts & media projects and residencies.
A passion for artist's books, her work is informed by travels in the UK & Far East, drawings, free writing, photography and film, together with collections of this and that; pages of her journals & visual diaries are bursting and full with stories and inspiration.
