Working as a volunteer can often provide individuals with the opportunity to gain new skills and abilities which are transferrable to paid employment. Learners will understand the importance of the voluntary sector by considering the personal skills and qualities required by volunteers for different types of voluntary work. Learners will investigate different kinds of voluntary work and learn how to apply for an area of voluntary work which interests them. In order to achieve this unit the learner must participate in some form of voluntary work.

3. Know how to apply to become a volunteer
