How you will learn
Through a number of module-based assignments, different genres of commercial image making will be introduced as well as what it takes to operate as a commercial photographer. Each module will ask for different aspects of your photographic and business competencies to be developed. This will be supported with guidance and feedback from a range of sources including professionals from industry and you will have the opportunity to present work for critique.
How you will be assessed
Assessment strategy aims to load the assessment needs equally throughout the course, with periods of assessment and critique during each module's delivery. Final assessment will then take place to arrive at a grade for that particular module. Completing each module will require a degree of independent learning. Achievement will be measured against the learning outcomes of each unit.
Entry Requirements
College leavers should typically have a minimum of 160 UCAS Tariff Points. Mature students should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for the creative, technical and academic demands of the course.
An English qualification is essential; a Maths qualification is desirable. You will need strong IT and communication skills.
You will be invited to attend an interview in order to assess your suitability for the course. A portfolio of your own creative and academic work is required.
Attendance
Two consecutive days. We specifically timetable the course to minimise the amount of travelling you've got to do, and to maximise your time whilst in College. An equivalent amount of self-study is required.
