What you will study
To achieve this qualification, you will need to gain 22 credits through the study of the following units:-
* Health, Safety and Security at Work.
* Develop Productive Working Relationships with Colleagues in Logistics Operations.
* Routing and Scheduling of Loads.
* Identify Suitable Collection or Delivery Points.
* Release Vehicles for Daily Tasks.
* Monitor Vehicle Movements.
* Post-Journey Reports and Checks.
* Contribute to the Provision of Customer Service in Logistics Operations.
* Make an Effective Contribution to a Business in the Logistics Sector.
How you will learn
The purpose of this qualification is to enable you to demonstrate, through workplace assessments, how well you carry out your normal daily work activities and how much you know about your job and related topics. These assessments will enable you to identify areas for development and to gain a greater understanding of how your work activities impact on the business.
You will learn by carrying out your normal working activities and receiving advice and guidance from your Assessor, as well as working through training materials where a training requirement is identified.
How you will be assessed
You will be allocated a personal Assessor who will observe you undertaking your normal work activities and assess your skills and knowledge against industry standards. You will also be required to provide documentary evidence of your competence from the workplace and witness testimonies from your supervisor. Your Assessor will also provide support and guidance in the preparation of an evidence portfolio.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry qualifications but you must be employed in a traffic office and undertaking collection and delivery planning, pricing and load co-ordination.
Attendance
The programme normally takes 6 months to complete.
