What you will study
Candidates must complete all five mandatory units, plus two from four optional units.
Mandatory Units
City and Guilds unit No:
301 Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety.
302 Develop procedures to safely control work operations.
303 Monitor procedures to safely control work operations.
304 Promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace.
305 Conduct a health and safety risk assessment of a workplace.
Optional Units
City and Guilds unit No:
306 Investigate and evaluate health and safety incidents and complaints in the workplace.
307 Make sure actions in the workplace aim to protect the environment.
308 Review health and safety procedures in the workplace.
309 Supervise the health, safety and welfare of a learner in the workplace.
How you will learn
Learners submit a portfolio of work-based evidence. Examples of evidence include reports of events; witness testimony or relevant documentation.
How you will be assessed
Your NVQ Assessor will work with you to plan and assess your practical work in the workplace.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry qualifications but you need to be employed in a role that will enable you to compile evidence of competency in the course units.
