What you will study
You will complete four mandatory units:-
* Introduction to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
* Hazards, risks and risk assessment
* Electricity, hazardous substances and fire safety
* Work equipment, personal protective equipment and first aid
How you will learn
You will be provided with a series of workbooks for the programme which you can work through at your own pace and convenience. You will be able to contact your tutor for help, support and guidance throughout the course. Your tutor will also provide detailed feedback on your work.
How you will be assessed
You will work through the learning materials and complete assessment tasks at the end of each unit. On successful completion of the four units you will be awarded a certificate.

You do not need to have any formal qualifications in order to follow this course but you will need to demonstrate commitment and motivation to work through the specially
Attendance
We expect you to be able to complete the qualification in a maximum of 16 weeks. There is no need for you to attend the College as this is a distance learning course. However, you can be supported in your studies in your place of employment or a centre near you.
