This qualification is open to all candidates who are preparing to work, or who are already working in a wide range of occupational areas. The qualification is appropriate for those who wish to gain underpinning knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity.
This qualification is a level 2 award accredited by EDI as a Vocational Related Qualification (VRQ). The qualification is also accredited onto the QCF with 4 credits.

The course aims to enable learners to understand the legal issues, conduct, codes of practice and policies surrounding the creation of a culture that promotes equality and values diversity
The course is made up of one unit which looks at the following:
- key features of a culture which promotes equality and values diversity
- Importance of the promotion of equality and valuing of diversity for an effective workplace
- the behaviour appropriate to the promotion of equality and valuing of diversity
- how to actively help others in the promotion of equality and valuing of diversity
- how to contribute effectively to promoting equality and valuing diversity
The course will be assessed by completing 30 multiple-choice questions within one hour. The answers will be marked externally by EDI.
