Week 1 - City & Guilds 6022-2 Copper Tube Advice and Installation Scheme - Domestic Installation

This first week will concentrate on choosing, designing and installing copper tube for domestic installation, including pipework sizing, fittings and jointing for both heating and hot & cold water systems. This includes:

- Calculating tube diameters

- Correct selection of pipe size

- Correct layout of system

- Insulation requirements

- Fixing posistions

- Assessing suitability of incoming services

- Producing working drawings to enable fabrication

- Positioning components, 2 radiators, boiler jig & bathroom sink plus associated pipe work

- Copper tube fabrication skills

- Economic use of materials

- Commisioning and decommissioning heating and hot & cold water systems

- Sterilisation of pipework, static pressure, working pressure, flow rate, temperature and test certificates, leaks etc.

- Recification of faults found

- Maintaining the system

Week 2 - City & Guilds 6032 - 1,2,3,4 Sanitary Domestic Installation & Design

The second week concentrates on designing, fitting and maintaining sanitary installations. The course covers all parts of the City & Guilds 6032 as et out below:

- City & Guilds 6032 - 1 Sanitary Accommodation Installation

- City & Guilds 6032 - 2 Domestic Commissioning

- City & Guilds 6032 - 3 Domestic Maintenance

- City & Guilds 6032 - 4 Bathroom Design

Skills learnt include:

- Installing bath and fittings

- Installing pedestal hand basins

- Installing close coupled & low level wc

- Installing soil connections

- Installing waste pipe and soil stack

- Maintaining a siphon valve

- Soil pipe air testing

- Plastic and copper pipework
