This course is approved by the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS), the Road Transport and Industry Training Board (RTITB) which fully complies with the Health and Safety at Work act (1974) with regards to recommendations on training. In House certification is also available.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course delegates will be able to :
l Identify the basic construction, components, the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
l Identify and comply with manufacturers instructions in accordance with the operator's handbook, other information sources i.e. duties charts, and applicable legislation.
l Explain all relevant documentation.
l Explain all displayed information on the machine.
l Carry out pre-start and running checks.
l Carry out emergency lowering procedures.
l Operate controls from ground level, and from within the working platform.
l Manoeuvre the MEWP involving tight turns and limited access, using both forward and reverse motions.
l Position the platform up to maximum working height.
l Keep within safe working parameters.
l Place the machine in an out of service condition.
l Explain the loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter.
