The 2356 Level 3 NVQ is the recognised qualification for ‘qualified electricians’. A dedicated NVQ assessor will agree with you how to best evidence your site skills and electrical knowledge. The following types of assessment are amongst those commonly used:

Observation – site observation of you working
Walk and Talk - assessment undertaken on site showing work previously completed
Recorded Discussion – a verbal account of work that you have completed with job evidence collected from site to validate the discussion
Witness Testimony – a formal statement from your qualified employer or colleague

Who is it suitable for?
For those working in the electrical industry that have experience and technical qualifications but need a formal qualification to achieve ‘qualified’ or ‘approved’ status in the industry.

Course entry requirements
Although there are no formal entry requirements for the NVQ 3, you would normally be asked to satisfy the following requirements before registering on this award:

Be working in the electrotechnical industry (electrical installation)
Have an approved City & Guilds technical qualification such as 2330, 2360 or 2351.
Have a level of experience and competence consistent in the role of a qualified electrician

Course options
Anyone wishing to undertake this course will be invited for an initial assessment. This will determine both your suitability for the qualification and the most appropriate type of assessments to be used.
The total cost and duration of this qualification will be specific to your circumstances to ensure that costs are kept to a minimum. Total costs are generally in the region of £650.

What is included?
City & Guilds registration/certification fees and registration for an e-portfolio account. A suitable level of 1-1 support and assessment time will be agreed with your assessor. 

What is not included?
Any required vocational qualifications such as City & Guilds 2330, 2360, 2351 or 17th Edition (should any be required).
