City & Guilds 2377 Portable Appliance Testing
The aim of this qualification is to enable delegates to undertake practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment. This qualification specifically addresses the requirements of the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (3rd Edition). Delivery concentrates on this publication through explanation, worked examples and practical ‘hands-on’ tuition.
Delegates must demonstrate an ability to inspect and test electrical equipment prior to taking the 30 question multiple-choice, 1 hour examination.

Course entry requirements
Delegates should already be familiar with electrical systems and hazards of electricity in order to successfully complete this qualification. Those without formal electrical qualifications must be able to demonstrate adequate knowledge and experience to ensure they have the potential to successfully complete this qualification.
Course options
A one day course is also available on request for those that have previous electrical and portable appliance testing experience. This course can also be delivered on customer premises or a venue to suit.
Delegates undertaking the 2-day course who also require the City & Guilds 2377-11 qualification (Management of Electrical Equipment Maintenance) may take this extra examination at an additional cost of £60. Both exams will be completed during the course.

What is not included?
A copy of the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (3rd Edition) and a non-programmable calculator.
